Does Arts Etobicoke offer art classes to the general public?

Yes, we offer free Saturday Storefront art classes for kids 6-12, teens, and adults. Call 416-622-8731 or e-mail graham@artsetobicoke.com for information.

Who can use the Arts Etobicoke Gallery for exhibitions?

As a public gallery our mandate is to provide access to a wide range of cultural expression in our community. We schedule a mix of exhibition programs that are balanced in their curatorial choices between our programs, membership and the local arts community. Generally, we do not present solo shows.

Exhibitions are offered at no cost to exhibitors. We are responsible for all promotion, marketing and installation of the works. We will charge a 30% commission from all sales. Our Gallery space is also available, subject to resources and availability, for other activities, such as poetry readings, small scale performances, lectures, meetings, etc.

Does Arts Etobicoke offer grants to individual artists?

No we do not.

What does a community arts organization do?

Community arts organizations do a variety of activities:

  • provide innovative and quality programming and services designed to increase accessibility of the arts
  • reach and involve special and diverse audiences
  • create broad community awareness of the arts
  • develop partnerships and networks to sustain local art activity

What volunteering opportunities are available?

We invite volunteers of all ages to help out with activities including:

  • Office assistance
  • Art installation for Storefront Gallery Exhibitions and the Student Art Show
  • Event assistance
  • Assisting with Saturday Storefront Art Classes + After School Drop-OIn
  • And more!

How is Arts Etobicoke funded?

Operating funding for Arts Etobicoke comes from the City of Toronto, Culture Division, and the Ontario Arts Council. The balance of our funding is raised through memberships, corporate sponsorships, individual donations, foundations, project grants, art rental and sales and fundraising events.
