A Matter of Perspectives

A Matter of Perspectives

September 1 - October 28, 2016
Reception: September 9, 1:00pm - 3:00pm

This exhibition features over 21 artists from the Islington Seniors Centre Art Program. The seniors meet once a week to explore painting and drawing in a variety of media (oil, acrylic, watercolour, and collage) with instructor Jacqueline Crawley. A Matter of Perspectives showcases select artwork from their 2016 sessions.

The Islington Seniors’ Centre provides programs and services to promote the physical, emotional and social wellness of adults 55+ living in the community. The centre strives to maximize seniors’ ability to live a healthy, active, independent, happy, and satisfying life. The Islington Centre provides a warm and friendly place for seniors to gather with others to socialize and take part in recreational programs and supportive services.

Jacqueline is a Toronto based artist and instructor with a degree from U of Guelph in fine art; she has also studied Theatre Design at U of T and Drafting at Ryerson. In her role as a teacher she "sees her role as opening student's eyes to new ideas, technique and opportunities so they can allow their own style to emerge."
