Over $4000 Raised at Artful Palate Fundraiser
June 2, 2010 at Cirillo's Culinary Academy
Tickets sold out quickly for the Artful Palate – an elegant fundraiser held at Cirillo's Culinary Academy located right across the street from our office and Gallery. We gratefully acknowledge Cirillo's Culinary Academy for sponsoring our fundraising event. As well, a big thank you goes to neighbourhood urban winery V1 Vintage One Wines for supporting our event.
The event featured a food demonstration and tasting stations courtesy of Cirillo's, in addition to live entertainment by students from the Kingsway Conservatory of Music. Artwork by Friends of Arts Etobicoke Earla Alexander and Board of Directors Nancy Newton and Andrew Ross were also on display. Andrew Ross also donated one of his spectacular pieces which we raffled during our event.
The event raised over $4000 which will support the unique arts education programming that we offer to our community. Congratulations to our Board of Directors who took the lead on this event, and especially to Board Member Ina Anthony for her generous contribution of time and energy.
Chef John Cirillo: Combining his background in classical European cuisine, with a flair for innovative Canadian cuisine, and 25 years of culinary experience, Chef Cirillo has designed Cirillo’s Culinary Academy to be a state-of-the-art teaching facility where students can slice and dice, sizzle and frizzle, puree and soufflé to their heart’s content—all with the supportive and nurturing guidance of one of Toronto’s top chefs.
Now open for lunch and dinner is Oregano by Cirillo’s. Featuring a variety of sandwiches, pastas, pizzas, seafood and meats, the new menu is bound to shine in the Village of Islington. Make it an impressive business meeting, an intimate get together with friends and family or just a quick bite to eat.
A special thank you goes to photographer Robert Carter for donating his services at this event.
